Â
Before the end of December, I create my vision board for the upcoming year. I enjoy this ritual!
There’s something about seeing what you dream of and for – everyday for the next few hundred of days – outside of your internal thoughts and dreams. Every day, inspiration stares back at me, indicating that with each new day I’m closer than I think to the manifestation of my heart’s desires.
Selah…
Imagine if your child had a vision board for their life. Waking up every morning, they get to see what inspires them. Their day is set with positivity! What an awesome way to start the school day!
Let’s help make your child’s school term a reality of the positivity they envision for themselves.

VISION BOARD CRAFTING TIPS
Â
Â
1. TOOLS
To start, gather some magazines, newspapers, artwork that catch their eye. Also grab a pair of scissors, glue, and poster board or large sheet of flip chart paper or the like. Vision boarding is great when done alone with their intimate thoughts or amongst persons they trust who also desire positive experiences in their life. Avoid having naysayers in on this activity – positive vibes only!
Â
Â
2. FEELINGS
One of my successes with vision boarding is to focus on feelings.Â
How does your child want to feel when they experience what they desire?Â
If they desire getting an A in science, how do they visualize feeling when they see that grade? Excited? Smiling with satisfaction?Â
Focus on 3-5 aspirations when designing the vision board. Then, sift through the periodicals and artwork and find images that reflect how they envision feeling when they accomplish their desires. Don’t leave out words in editorial titles or magazine headings that may announce their desired feelings.
Â
Â
3. MEMENTOS
Vision boards don’t have to consist of solely pictures and magazine cuttings. Try adding mementos that add scents or 3D visualize of where they want to go in life this school term. It may be turf from a tennis ball to signify making the school’s tennis team, a piece of silk fabric to represent entrance into an elite fashion designer summer program, or gold tassels to signify graduating with honours in June. Try not to fill up every space on the vision board. Leaving ‘white space’ allows their mind to focus on key aspirations daily and to not become overwhelmed.Â
Â
Â
4. POSITION
Once designed, it must be visible. Consider placement in an area that is frequented daily such as near a mirror in the bedroom, on the wall by the bathroom door. Also consider snapping a picture of it so it’s on the cellphone; let it be an encouragement throughout the day.
Â
Vision boards don’t guarantee what you desire will come to pass. They do not magically make the As and Bs appear at the end of the school term.
However, they do help to inspire a mindset shift toward belief and action. Before you know it, your life’s path is now heading toward realizing your dreams and desires – one believing thought at a time, one baby step of action at a time.
Soon, the feelings once envisioned will be happening in real life!

Do share how your vision boarding has helped you and your child to achieve their desires. We love to hear your stories!
Let’s continue to invest in our children as whole beings – fueling their mind, body, and spirit.
