University

By now, you have most likely heard about the College Scandal happening in the Hollywood Hills in the USA.
If you haven’t, watch how it all unfolded. SaveSave

Coaches, teachers, bogus charities, celebrities, guidance counsellors, board members, fake credentials, hundreds of thousands/millions of dollars – all for a ‘good’ education for their children.

In another part of town, a few years ago, a parent spent 10 days in jail for using her father’s address to get her children into a ‘good’ school.

Clearly, all of these parents saw value in the name of a particular school being sited on their children’s future resume.

Where’s the harm in it all, though?  They just want the best for their child, right?

Meanwhile, other parents who value education too, are working hard, enrolling their children in legitimate extra-curricular activities, and hiring tutors to see that their child gets a fair shot at a top university – some of which are included in this scandal.

Is it wrong to desire a ‘good’ education for your children – at any cost?

Maybe, this is happening in your hometown but on a smaller scale.  Maybe you have or are considering this as an option.

You may even be questioning if university is even all that it’s cracked up to be, especially if you are on the lower side of the income level scale.

A university experience is more than ‘good’ grades.  It’s just that – an experience.  It’s an experience of opportunities to grow into adulthood, meet new people you may not normal acquaint yourself with, discover more of yourself, tap into your skills/talents/purpose on a new level, and connect with persons beyond your experience and sphere of influence.

This latest scandal may have had you thinking about using the college piggybank money for that dream vacation or new house down payment instead!

For some, this may be the better option.

For others, keep saving.  Maybe, just maybe, this scandal may open up more doors for your child to be recognized for the beautiful and brilliant soul they truly are!

Let’s continue to invest in our children as whole beings – fueling their mind, body, and spirit.
Let’s do this!
